Noakes Motorsport, one of the original teams of the RX8 Cup Series recently faced one of the most daunting challenges, a complete car rebuild. The setback came after an incident at Round 3 of the championship in Sydney, which left Jackson Noakes’s #27 RX8 Cup car significantly damaged.
The RX8 Cup Series is known for its fierce competition and rivalries on track. However, what truly distinguishes the RX8 Cup from other one-make racing series is the exceptional camaraderie among its drivers, teams, and families. The true culture of the category was evident when the third generation team were in need. The drivers, teams and families came together, donating parts and resources to aid in the swift rebuild of the damaged car. Thanks to Toms Auto Body the car was quickly repaired and transferred back to the teams headquarters to complete the final touches of the rebuild. In just under 10 weeks time the truly special story was complete with the team announcing that Jackson will lineup on the grid presenting a sharp new livery on his cup car.
Noakes told the RX8 Cup “It’s been a very busy 10 weeks since the accident. A lot of time and dedication has gone into getting this car rebuilt and ready to go. We could not have done this without the insane amount of help we have had from all our mates in the RX8 Cup, existing sponsors and even new sponsors who have come onboard. The RX8 Cup community and drivers have been so generous with their donations and a tonne of parts to help us rebuild the No.27 RX8. Huge shoutout to our sponsors who have been with us all the way: John Ryan Freight Management, Australian Automotive Parts – AAP, Platinum Gaskets, Ultima Brake Parts & Suspension, BC Sands, MCW Lawyers, Macri Motors. Also to the guys who have just recently jumped onboard and helped us out in many ways! One of the drivers Robert Scott from Scott Property Group, Taren Point Towing, Tom’s Auto Body, Townsend Signs. We are looking forward to Round 4 of the championship coming up at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend. Fingers crossed for a clean weekend of racing with a fast car!”
Thank you to the RX8 Cup drivers & family for their incredible support towards the Noakes Motorsport Team. What a story this has been and we look forward to seeing Jackson Noakes back on track this weekend for round 4 of the championship. The series is excited to announce that there will be FREE ENTRY for all spectators at the next event. Come check out the action at Sydney Motorsport Park August 2-4.
