It’s time to head north for the final round of the 2025 RX8 Cup Series at Morgan Park Raceway. It’s all to play for in Queensland to crown this years champion with three drivers within a shot of the title. Stiaan Kriel comes into the final round as favourite with the South African holding a 13 point margin over reigning champ Robert Scott. It was Morgan Park last year that Scott wrapped up his first RX8 Cup title and will be looking to chase down Kriel to make it back to back championships wins. Jackson Noakes sits third in standings and will be out to seal his first top three championship finish. Noakes is currently 72 points behind Rob Scott and 85 behind Kriel.
The battle for fourth spot sees three drivers split by just 14 points with Grant Bray, Tom Donohue and Aaron Hills all eager to finish the year off on a high.
Morgan Park has held host to the final round of the championship for the last couple of years providing a great spectacular of rotary racing. Michael Hazelton took pole in 2024 with a time of 1:29.3 and will return to pilot the #81 Maisie Place Motorsport car this weekend. Maisie Place earned her first round podium finishing third here last year after some fantastic results and will be looking to do the same in Frogger.
Local QLD driver, Paul Spiteri will make his debut in the series piloting the #11 CBM / Wynn Racing cup car. Some fast young guns return for another shot with RX8 Cup Enduro Champion Tyler Collins to pilot the #18 Ric Shaw Racing car. Victorian driver Ashton Cattach lines up on the grid after recently making his debut at SMSP and went on to win the final race of the weekend.
