The RX8 Cup Series is thrilled to announce the categories first endurance race meeting will take place at Sydney Motorsport for round 4 of the 2025 season. This is exciting for all teams involved as it allows the seasoned competitors to team up with a co driver to share the racing. The weekend format will include the normal Friday Practice sessions followed by a driver A and Driver B qualifying session Saturday morning. These qualifying sessions will set the grid for the driver A sprint race and driver B sprint race. Sprint Race A (20 minutes) will be run Saturday before the first of the 50 minute enduro’s take place Saturday afternoon. Sunday we return for Sprint Race B (20 minutes) and the final 50 minute endurance race to complete the weekend.
Category Founder Ric Shaw explained “After toying with the idea of an Enduro style event for the last couple of years we have decided to give the drivers the experience of carrying out pitstops in a team effort with a Co driver. We saw this as an opportunity to introduce new drivers to the category as well as bringing in celebrity drivers. We realised most drivers had never experienced an Enduro or a pitstop with a driver change. We are in the business of having fun in Motorsport and an Enduro style event, will certainly add to that”.
The RX8 Cup is looking forward to announcing the teams driving partnerships as it is shaping up to be one of the biggest rounds in history of the category.
