The 2025 RX8 Cup Champion Stiaan Kriel will make the trip across the ditch this weekend to compete in the Mazda Pro8 New Zealand Series. Kriel won the ‘Trans Tasman Drive Prize’ award last season which sees him win a drive in the final round of the Mazda Pro8 Championship at Euromarque Motorsport Park, Christchurch. Stiaan will be up against some of New Zealand’s quickest RX8 drivers when he joins the grid in Ruapuna including the 2025 back to back Pro8 Champion Jared Pyke who travelled over to Australia last year competing at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Stiaan Kriel’s 2025 Championship winning season consisted of 18 race wins, 20 podium finishes and 6 from 6 pole positions crowning Kriel his first Australian national title. The RX8 Cup wishes Stiaan all the best over in New Zealand this weekend!
