The RX8 Cup Series is excited to welcome back Australian Motorsport Hall of Famer John Bowe to compete at round 2 of the series at Winton Raceway. JB is the only driver in Australian motor sport history to win nine national championships in four different categories over a career spanning 50 years. The legend himself has already made two appearances in the category, joining the series for the first time back in 2022. 2024 saw JB line up for a second round competing at Sydney Motorsport Park where he took home three out of four race wins and won the round. He now returns for a third drive at one of his local Victorian circuits Winton Raceway.
Bowe explained “I have been a serious advocate for RX8 Cup since i discovered it a couple of years ago. Without doubt the best introduction to motor sport without a rich family! I started my racing life in Formula Vee which was back in the day the way to race on a budget! RX8 Cup Series is the modern day equivalent and so well policed and controlled! Through my friendship with the Shaw family, I’m in again at Winton, one of my favourite tracks, You may ask why?? It’s because I love racing and love to hang out with racing people.
