The RX8 Cup is proud to welcome talented female driver Cassie Dellit to the series. Cassie’s journey into motorsport began with a fascination sparked by the Formula 1 ‘Drive to Survive’ series as well as a natural inclination for speed. Her motorsport adventure kicked off with laps on simulators at VR Motorsports in Cannon Hill, Brisbane. In 2023 Cassie expanded her driving repertoire by learning to drift with Drift Nation at QLD Raceway.

Cassie’s passion and dedication led her to compete in the Formula Women competition in the UK earlier this year, showcasing her growing expertise and commitment to the sport. Now, as part of RCD Motorsport under the mentorship of former McLaren GT Factory driver Harry Hayek, Cassie is honing her skills to prepare for the RX8 Cup Series.

Thanks to the team at Maisie Place Motorsport and the driver coaching from Harry Hayek,  Cassie has completed multiple test days in an RX8 Cup car to prepare for her first round in the series August 2-4. Team Owner & Driver Maisie Place said “I am very excited to have Cassie joining the series and we have enjoyed working alongside RCD Motorsport to prepare for her first race meeting. Cassie is the perfect example of the type of person that makes this sport thrive, with her determination, enthusiasm and easy going personality. We welcome Cassie to the RX8 Cup family and wish her all the best for the weekend”.

In addition to her participation in the RX8 Cup, Cassie has been invited to drive in the Formula Woman Nation’s Cup event in the UAE this December. This prestigious event will feature 50 female drivers from over 26 different countries competing in Radical Cup cars, providing Cassie the opportunity to showcase her talents on the international stage.

The Queensland based driver will pilot the #60 Ric Shaw Racing built RX8 Cup car run by Maisie Place Motorsport at Sydney Motorsport Park, joining a strong 18-car field. Dellit explained “I am feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement going into my first race weekend but grateful to be surrounded by supportive people within the series. Hoping to have a good clean run and not stall it at the start”.

The RX8 Cup is excited to announce that there will be FREE ENTRY for all spectators at the next event. Come check out the action at Sydney Motorsport Park August 2-4.
